Visiting Professors

Roman Danel

Roman Danel graduated in Automation of control and Cybernetics at VSB – Technical University in Ostrava and received Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) in Automation of technological processes.

Since 2009 he has worked at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava where he has taught IT related subject such as information systems, databases, system integration, operating system, automation of preparation plants, computer science, security of information systems.

He was a head of Automation Department at Institute of Economics and Control Systems. He has designed and put into operation Coal Preparation Plant Information System at Darkov Coal Mine and he is a co-author of several information systems for raw industry.

His main research interests are: databases, information systems, programming languages, operating systems, coal preparation plant automation, system integration, security of information systems. At WSG Bydgoszcz he teach informatics topics such as basics of operating systems, information systems MES or ERP systems in production.

He conducts the following subjects: Programming LabView, Operating systems, TQM - total quality management, Rules of designing technological processes, Integrated IT systems in enterprise, Production and services management.

Nataliya Shakhovska

Natalia Shakhovska is a doctor of Technical Sciences and professor in Information Systems and Networks Department at Lviv Polytechnic National University in Ukraine. She is also dean of Institute of Computer Scienses and Information Technologies and the head of Artificial Intelligence Department.

Since 2015 is a professor in Institute of Informatics i Mechatronics at University of Economy in Bydgoszcz.

As lector in theory of algorithms, data warehouse and relational database, artificial intelligence and Big data mining she also supervises doctoral students (PhD level). Being a participant in International grants and programs she Won in I4MS call (Hub-laboratory Internet of things (HULIT)) and prepared 3 proposals in Horizon2020, ICT - Research and Innovation actions.

She conducts the following subjects: Intelligent decision systems, Artificial intelligence.

Michal Repka

Michal Řepka is employee at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice (Czechia). He holds a PhD in Automation of technological processes (2008), a Masters of Automation and Computers in Raw Material Industry (2001) both from VŠB Technical University of Ostrava.

His research work focuses on application methods of Artificial Intelligence a specially on Feed-forward Neural Networks, image processing and data mining. He is also interested in Robotics and Control Systems. He cooperates with many universities from European Union mainly with University of Applied Sciences of Jyvaskyla in Finland. Almost every year he is active as a ERASMUS lecturer (in Finland, Austria, Hungary, etc.).

His current courses on WSG in Bydgoszcz are Introduction to Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. During lectures of Introduction to Automation students are familiarizing with basic ideas what are necessary to control different kinds of systems. Lectures of Artificial Intelligence are conceived as an introduction to advanced techniques in Automation field. During this subject students will see some techniques of image processing with real outputs and they will learn to create own neural network. During lectures of Robotics students will create their own small robots and they will learn how to build simple control system. All subjects are generally focused to show to students how to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

He conducts the following subjects: Modeling and simulation, Fundamentals of automation, Design of control systems, Mechatronic systems, Artificial intelligence, Rapid prototyping, Control theory, Robotics.
